RV Description
I have a beautiful, perfectly maintained 19th Airflyte Reissue, previously owned by an older couple who rarely used it, and I (single and 60+) have only had it for less than one year. There were only 1941 made, to commemorate the year that Shasta first started making campers, and this was made by Shasta, off a 1961 Airflyte that they found and brought into the factory to study. The 61 was completely disassembled, the original plans were brought out of the Shasta archives and the whole factory team stopped making other trailers for 2015-2016 while they produced the Airflyte as a labor of love and tradition. The fist to roll off the floor was kept by the owner for his family. This is model #1235.
When I bought it in Sept 24 (from Campers World in Grand Rapids, so it was completely gone through) I had brand new wide whitewalls put on, along with the top of the line stabilizer bars for problems free towing (an addition $1000+) I added the Chrome Moonies and beauty rings which were not standard. I bought a new Propane tank with a mounted gauge as well. The only mods to the camper from new is the paper towel dispenser mounted under the counter by the sink. All other items are help in place by one sided tape so that the original camper is still perfect. I "modified" the rear bed to accommodate a FullXL memory foam mattress buy just cutting a removable piece of plywood into place, but it can be lifted out and removed in a moment. All the cushions are in perfect order. The heat works great, all the windows are perfect and in working order, custom (I think) black and white polka dots drapes are a super addition. It weighs 2875 empty and returning from my last trip I pulled into a weigh stations and even fullish it weighed under 3200#. Comes with new spare tire. I had an issue with my tow vehicle and while love the camper (I was born in 1961, so I really wanted this camper) I'm not going to buy a new tow vehicle, so I won't be puling anything anytime soon!
Because I'm not Campers World, I won't be selling it stripped out! You'll get all the goodies I bought (well over $750 worth) of power cords, adapters, surge protector, plumbing, drain stuff, water hoses, jack risers and everything, all brand new! IT took me over a month to source all that stuff, as I was a new camper. All brand new, all yours.
Synchronicity, as it happens, occurred and the camper was named The Flying Arrow, a twist on the Flying Airflyte. Hence the arrow and the very unique, custom made metal emblem on the rear, which is a cut out of the Flying Service Automobile Company from the 40s-60's that sold gas, oil and had service stations all around the country. Look them up and you'll see. The emblem was laser cut out of steel, painted and attached with double sided tape, so its not permanent. So it will come with the camper, keep it or remove and discard it, and I'll just have another one made as a memento. Previous owners caused a slight fault in the front right, but you have to stand within 6 ft to make it out. It was NOT disclosed to me by Campers World, but it is there although it might not even show up in the photos.
Include is the original Black and White stripes awning, with poles and ropes, not torn or damaged at all.
I will also include 2 brand new aluminum 60's style, red and white striped, webbed chairs. They are XL, American made and were not easy to source! I'll see if there is a picture of those. Asking price is just my payoff amount, not looking to make anything here. But I'd like it to go to a caring home that will appreciate it!
Inquire if you need to see any more pictures. Currently still winterized, but everything was perfect back in late Nov. It was covered all winter until just last week.
