Storage: will fit in many residential garages and out of the weather, preserving the vehicle condition.
Owner Notes:
Our Sportsmobile is a one-owner custom designed RV. We have owned camper vans for over 50 years and fell this layout incorporates the best of that experience: keeping the necessary features and passing on the nice but not so necessary ones for better alternatives. As always, it's a trade off on what's best.
As a one-owner vehicle, it has been well maintained and cared for over the years. We've done regular maintenance, starting with oil changes using full synthetic motor oil. Most of the maintenance has been completed by Ford dealer service departments with Ford recommended parts. In spite of its mileage, the vehicle is in good working condition. The two auxiliary AGM batteries were replaced in June 2024. The engine has less than 10K miles since the last tune-up and the tires have less than 15k miles since they were installed. The vehicle has not been involved in any collisions. We've used the vehicle for its intended purpose but never off-road. As a result, the vehicle remains in very good condition.
We've driven the vehicle coast-to-coast and visited many wonderful places. We've travelled mostly on freeways to our destinations and then local roads to our journey's end. At times, we've towed a boat to the lake, a GMC Tracker (4wd) for off-road travel out west, a cargo trailer with shower & toilet for more primitive camping in the wilderness or at art fairs and festivals, and a travel trailer for extended stays at RV resorts. When not on the road, the vehicle has been stored in a garage or carport and never really driven on salty roads.
So, you might be wondering, why sell this vehicle? We're simply aging out and ready to down-size our adventures but believe there are many years of trouble-free service for the next owner.
