This is not a standard Isata 3 with a generator bolted on. It is the Freedom Edition. Dynamax pulled the LP generator and the propane tank at the factory and replaced them with a real off-grid power system.
Why you dont need a generator. The coach has a second 280-amp alternator dedicated to the house batteries. It is not the chassis starter alt. When the diesel is running parked at idle or on the highway that second alternator charges 620 amp-hours of Xantrex low-temperature lithium. Owners and Dynamax both treat it as the generator: batteries get low, start the engine, let it work. Two to four hours of idle/drive typically brings a low bank back up.
On the roof: three solar panels (570600 watts) with a charge controller, so the bank stays up while you sit still. Inside: a 3,000-watt Xantrex pure sine inverter/charger. The whole coach is inverted, including the air conditioner. The 12V compressor fridge runs straight off the batteries, not through the inverter.
If parked under shelter where no sun for solar you use 30-amp 110v equipped plug.
