1987 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Class B Camper Van | Documented Service History + Fresh Interior Remodel



This is a 1987 Dodge Ram Van B250 with the legendary 5.2L/318 V8 and TorqueFlite automatic, professionally converted by Roadtrek (Home & Park Motorhomes, Kitchener, Ontario) into a ~19-foot Class B camper van. It's a genuine, self-contained camper on the simple, bulletproof, easy-to-service Dodge platform that any shop can work on.



Our story with it: My wife and I owned this van from about 80,000 miles to today, and every mile we added was spent living in it full-time and traveling the country for a year. It's a trusty van surprisingly clean for its age, and we always felt confident it would get us to the destination. We're only selling because we're moving to a tow-behind setup for our next rig. It's ready for someone new to travel in it the same way we did.



We bought it from a meticulously organized and caring owner who kept all of their service records, so we continued with that during our ownership as well and have a neatly organized chronological binder that documents the van's history.



Recent interior remodel:


- New flooring throughout

- Refreshed cabinetry, including new toilet cabinetry

- Entirely new bedding / sleep layout

- Added storage

- Electrical issues sorted out

- New A/C shroud

- Various other cosmetic upgrades



Recent mechanical work (2023-2026):


- Front brakes: new calipers, hydraulic hoses, metallic pads, full brake-fluid flush

- Rear brakes: new shoes, drums, and hardware

- Driveline: both rear driveshaft U-joints replaced

- Fuel system: new mechanical fuel pump, fuel lines, and fuel filter

- Charging: remanufactured alternator (lifetime-warranty part) + new battery

- Engine: full tune-up (8 new plugs, cap/rotor/wires checked), all V-belts replaced

- Transmission: multiple ATF fluid-exchange services; shifts as designed

- HVAC: brittle vacuum lines repaired vents switch modes correctly again

- Steering & suspension inspected and found good


Camper features: galley with 2-burner propane cooktop, sink (and microwave), 3-way refrigerator, propane furnace, fresh/grey/black water tanks, propane tank, rear air conditioning, swiveling front captain's chairs, toilet, and lots of wood cabinet storage. Sleeps 2 as configured. Standing height is 6'-6'2" inside under the raised top.


Honest disclosures (I'd rather you know up front):


- A shop noted a broken sway-bar bracket; it recommended new brackets/bushings and re-drilling the mounting holes. Because the part was no longer available, we had a permanent fix welded in its place but custom fabricated. The job is well done and will outlast the rest of the van if I was to bet on it, but disclosing it here since it technically cannot be replaced again.

- The air conditioning is the original R12 system it cools but is in need of a re-charge and we have not done that. It can be topped off or converted to modern R134a. Also priced in.

- There is a very slow oil leak. So slow that we chalk it up to age (not worth having a shop chase it down). We rarely need to add oil since the leak is so slow that we get oil changes more frequently than we would need to add oil. We just keep a small slip of cardboard under it to keep the driveway clean.
