This trailer had the early stages of wall frame flex on the lower front corner of the vanity slide. A not uncommon issue on longer 5th wheels with 4 slides. There was no fiberglass damage or crack and no issues on the bed/drivers side. The repair was done February 2026 at the Bob Tiffin service center in Red Bay, Alabama by a seasoned technician that transferred from the VanLeigh service center when it closed. It involved the same procedure used by other shops that specialize in this repair, namely, exposing the suspect aluminum frame and adding/welding additional gussets and aluminum sheet bracing. The Tiffin service center has dedicated several bays for VanLeigh service and repairs and their prices are very reasonable.
The Reese Goose Box with suspension has made a dramatic difference in how the trailer tows, eliminating chucking end resulting in a much smoother towing experience. Using a goose ball setup keeps the truck bed open when not towing by inverting the goose ball making it flush with the bed.
Most major systems have been recently inspected and repaired where necessary like wheel bearings and brake pads, roof seal, a/c and electrical.
The tow truck is also available. It is a 2001 Ford Lariat F-350 dually with 86,000 miles. All service is up to date. With the 6.7L Power Stroke v8 Turbo Diesel (475HP and 1,050 lb-ft torque) it tows the trailer with ease. It has the FX4 and towing package.
