RV Description
Yes, it's old. But it's reliable. It's been lovingly upgraded and maintained and the motor is built for 500K minimum. We've travelled with 7 people using the custom bunk bed we built for it. Drove it to the Great Lakes, the Grand Canyon, multiple trips to Florida and tons of shorter trips. Selling it because we bought a larger motor home that has slides. Would take it long distance tomorrow without concern (in fact, we'd deliver it a reasonable distance for the cost of the diesel it takes to drive it to you). And for the mechanics out there... it's pre-computer. Hydraulic brakes, not air brakes. This is a Class A diesel pusher that you can work on at home.
The details: Model XC20RD, VIN is 4CDR6BR20R2304550. Engine is a 5.9 Cummins diesel. Chassis is a medium duty freightliner truck.
Upgrades / replaced equipment: PAC brake, Banks turbo, new radiator, new batteries, new fridge, brake job (calipers and rotors), sealed the roof (has never leaked).
Features:
- Residential (not RV sized) Queen bed
- Full size scissor couch in the living room
- Inverter system so outlets work while driving.
- 100 gallons of fresh water. 50 gallon waste tank.
- Onboard generator with 800 hours on it. This makes it possible to travel cross country and not have to stop at campgrounds along the way, or camp where there are no hookups.
- Microwave and oven with gas stove
- Lots of closets, compartments and drawers inside and storage in the basement (under coach compartments).
- Washer / dryer combo in the kitchen
- We built a custom bunk bed frame that allows a full size air mattress to go over the front seats when parked for add'l sleeping capacity, which you can have if you want it. On one trip we slept 7! Two on the bunk bed, two on the scissor couch, one on an air mattress on the living room floor and two in the queen bed.
- Custom drapes that allow the living room and bedroom to be dark (we like to sleep in)
