RV Description

This is a solid and reliable house on wheels. We just got back home to PA from a family vacation to California. Yes, we did have some issues, but I think we've taken care of them.

Note: I do not know the exact trim package so I selected on. I think its an 8344.

Here is the record:
*All new tires about 7500 miles ago. We added a spare for our trip.

*All new batteries in May.

*New suspension air bags, but not installed, too, in case the old ones crack, but they are not leaking so we didn't change them.

Propane systems all work well:
*Generator works fine.
*Furnace in good running condition. New ducts.
*Range and oven in excellent condition.
*Propane or DC refrigerator/freezer works well.
*Water heater. Fully functional. Do not use while driving.

All DC and AC systems in good working condition.
*Roof air conditioners work well. Had a hard time keeping up in Death Valley but what doesn't?
*All levels indicators work.
*Water pump in fine condition. No known leaks in water system or drains. Faucets and shower dated but work well.
*New toilet seals.
*Power front step works well. Must be switched manually.
*Range hood works great.
*Modern backup camera added.
*Roof spot-light works surprisingly well. We used it on hairpin curves to see what came next.
*Floors are solid. Walls good condition.

*New vinyl floors throughout. New wainscot added where there was water damage due to old seals cracking. Window exteriors and storage compartment trims newly caulked. We have fixed this thing as though we were were going to keep it.

Six-year-old Conklin spray-on roof.

A few negatives:

*Power leveling jacks work, but do not retract fully. Very useable with a bit of planning, but these should be changed if you are not handy.
*While the under carriage is solid, a few areas non-main frame areas are rusted.
*Fiberglass body areas do have hairline cracks in places.
*Some exterior de-lamination has occurred, as can be expected.
*Air horns do not work, but electric one work fine.
*Headlights should be brighter. I think this is a factory issue.
*We removed the awning, but it goes with the deal.

All this gets pushed down the highway smoothly with a pleasantly powerful Cummins 8.3 (pre-emissions, of course) with a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission. Fully functioning exhaust brake.

80 mph was very do-able, but it was hard on the fuel mileage. Average you can figure for 8 mpg. We did need to slow up some on hills to keep it from overheating.

We have changed the engine thermostat and cleaned the radiator since we are home. Also added a new tensioner pulley. All new filters within the last 7500 miles.

I own a GMC truck with leather, but the front seats in this old wheeled house are amazing. Better than my GMC and very comfy.

If you wonder why priced so high, compare others that are functional like ours. Are you ready to travel? Give me a call!
