We are selling our factory ordered 2017 Jayco Precept 31UL. Living in Nevada, we wanted something small enough to explore the backroads and be able to boondock, camp in state parks and BLM disbursed campsites. It has served this purpose very well, but we now want to start traveling a little less and do a little more snow-birding. Weve bought a considerably larger motorhome with a W&D and a bath and a half to accommodate our future multi-month stays with hopefully many friends, family & grandkids visits.
There are many reasons we chose the 2017 31UL. We wanted the Auto Generator start for the A/C and we liked the very large cargo carrying capacity due to Jayco upgrading to the 22.5 aluminum wheels; & upgrading from a 18,000-pound chassis to a 22,000 pound chassis in 2017. It has a 5,809-pound cargo carrying capacity! Other features not often found at this price point are the fiberglass roof, macerator sewer system (no Stinky Sleeky hose) and instant tankless water heater. My wife also loves the large 4 door refrigerator, convection microwave and pullout kitchen drawer unit giving her lots of kitchen counter space. The drop-down bunk and tri-fold queen sofa bed came in handy on our trips with the grandkids. The 2 air conditioners are nice on those hot summer days.
We added ShadePro windshield and cockpit side window covers, ShadePro dash cover and a ShadePro Vista awning extension w zipper for easy installation. We also added a Safe T Plus steering stabilizer for both safety in case of a blowout and to help make driving long days easier. Our portable SAT receiver w tripod stand and Wally unit are included. Both roof vent fans have Maxxair covers for those rainy days you want to leave them open. We also added a screen door protector & a wood spice rack.
With 3 slides you get plenty of space considering the 31 length. There are 3 TVs, a 50 on a Tel-evator across from the sofa, 32 in the bedroom and a 37 outside. Everything is accessible with all the slides in; you can sleep on the bed, use the bathroom and shower, and access the refrigerator & kitchen sink.
Outside theres 2 large pass-thru storage compartments, 1 large non-passthrough & 2 small compartments as well as a large 50 amp electrical compartment and a roomy wet bay area with outdoor shower & whole house water filter. We have a factory installed rear ladder, the 2017 and some other years do not have them. I wanted to be able to access the roof for inspections & maintenance, so I had the dealership install one.
One of the front tires developed a bubble at 24,418 miles in Aug 2021 so we replaced both the front tires which puts 21,082 miles on them. I replaced all 4 rear tires last year due to age (not wear) at 40,867 miles which puts 4,633 miles on them.
The RV has always been stored out of the weather and sun. It has always been covered with an extended warranty, so weve had all the little maintenance items & recalls taken care of as theyve happened.
