RV Description

Offered for sale is The Terrapin, Toyota's pre-Tacoma RV. She's actually a "Sun Land Express," not a Suntrader (that was the closest I could find in the list).

She ain't gonna get you there fast, but she's GONNA get you there. As Toyota enthusiasts know, the 22re 4 cylinder motor represents arguably the best gasoline power plant Toyota has ever made. This one has only 26,000 miles on it--and those are legit, original miles as you can see in the photos. It's a 4 Speed Automatic with tires that have fewer than 5000 miles one them. I personally put 2000+ miles on the truck when I drove it to Upstate New York and back to NC in October 2025 on a hunting trip. Absolutely zero mechanical problems on that 1500+ mile trip.

It starts every time--even in the teens and 20 degree crap we've had lately. It is mechanically solid, though the rear drum brake cylinders will need replacing relatively soon. They only leak a little when you depress the brakes. The main brake unit is new, so I just monitor the level and have had no issues. The front air conditioning needs a re-charge.

The body of the beast is all aluminum--not some cheapass fiberglass; it was all re-sealed last June, including the roof. None of the windows leak either. It could use new curtains, but the shades work just fine. The interior has been recently renovated--it's not perfect, but it's pretty darn good. New lights, new house batteries, replaced cabinetry and ceiling. The RV can comfortably sleep 3+plus a kid or a dog, but it would be cramped: it's less than 20ft long and can fit in a normal parking place for goodness sake!

The roof air conditioning is new and has less than 20 hours on it; I installed a voltage regulator that makes it possible to run it off a small generator (I use a mid-sized Honda [3000?]). I have not utilized the sink or bathroom, but the previous owner assured me that they both work. The Fridge is equipped to work on both electric and gas, though I have only used it on electric. I have not used the gas stove--I use a hot plate and a microwave. I assume it works, but you would want to have the whole LP system checked out by a professional before you fired it up.

I love this truck; I don't really want to sell it and I'm not in a hurry, so don't low-ball me (I'll ignore you and tell your friends what a cheapass you are). I would have love to take it to the East Coast national parks and to some shows next summer, but at some point I need a truck. I'd consider trade for a Cat-eye LBZ (2006) or a 1999-2002 7.3 F-250/350.

Oh, The Dude does not come with the truck; he Abides [with me].
