Towing your escape vehicle opens up more opportunities to explore along your journeys. We've towed Hondas with kayaks on the roof and bicycles inside on visits to our favorite site in the Adirondack Mountains (1,800 miles from Boulder each way). This Open Road has a factory-installed trailer hitch (rated for 5,000 lbs) and standard 7-pin wiring.

Others we've met along the way complain about the potholes yet we've found the cure. Seems that Fords bullet-proof F53 Chassis did indeed provide the legendary combination of the Ford Triton V10 (10 cylinder) 362 horsepower engine and the Allison transmission (69,750 miles) but they left the leaf springs and shocks behind trying unsuccessfully to deliver a relaxing ride.

In 2022, we invested over $20,000 in a Liquid Spring replacement suspension system that negates crosswinds and truck buffering events that leave drivers white-knuckled and exhausted after three or four hours of driving. Railroad crossings, potholes and thousands of miles of tar-strips are just unhappy memories since the upgrade in this rig 18,500 miles ago.

This suspension system evaluates speed, steering, braking and ride height 1,000 times per second (yes, per second!) to automatically optimize your ride quality, handling, and peace of mind. You have three choices for a smooth ride: Sport, Comfort, or Normal. No more back-jarring railroad tracks or pothole shocks.

No more swaying in cross winds, when you hit a pothole or when those huge trucks pass you by!

Arrive at your destination relaxed and rested without white knuckles. Our Liquid Spring suspension system was installed at headquarters in Indiana in 2022, just 18,500 miles ago.

An additional benefitthe coach squeaks less and doesnt get beat up by the highways.

We now drive six to eight hours regularly. 22.5 inch Toyo tires added in 2024 (8,000 miles ago) topped off the improvement in our ride. {See LiquidSpring.com} and below for more info.}
