RV Description
We purchased this 29BH new and are the first and only owners. We love quality and how spacious it is. And over the 2-3 years we've used it, our camping adventures have evolved to include off-road day trips. We realized what we really need is a Class C with an ability to pull our 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Now that we have a Class C motorhome, the travel trailer gets very little use. So it's time to let it go. Once the White Hawk is sold, we might even replace our current tow vehicle with a more off-road capable small truck. If you are in the market for a high quality good condition travel trailer with sleeping space for up to 10 people, look no further.
Most of the miles I've put on this RV are due to a trip to the FL pan-handle and moving it from TN to UT. The vast majority of our use was at state parks within 30 minute to 2 hours drive from Murfreesboro, TN. It comes with the original tires and they are in fair to good shape. Included in the price is the Curt sway control hitch I use to tow it.
I've made a few modifications that I think you'll like and appreciate. First, I added an aluminum toolbox on the tongue that, essentially, replaces the single Group 24 battery box. In the toolbox you'll find 2 x 100Ah lithium batteries in parallel. This increases the battery capacity from approximately 85Ah for the original lead acid battery. Realistically, lead acid batteries should not be discharged below approximately 40-50% of full or you will reduce the useful life. And as the battery discharges, the voltage drops rather rapidly for lead acid batteries. However, with lithium you can discharge 95% of the capacity without reducing the useful life and the voltage doesn't drop much at all until you have discharged at least 85% of capacity. To ensure that the lithium batteries will fully charge, I changed the settings on the power converter/charger to support lithium.
The toolbox on the tongue has more than enough space for the two lithium batteries. So the excess space can be used for other items (chock blocks, tools, etc.) or you could and yet a third (and maybe fourth) lithium battery. The combined weight of the two lithium batteries and the toolbox is not much more than the original single lead acid battery.
We've also replaced the original fold out steps for the main entrance. The new steps are a Morryde Step Above what is spring loaded. It's more sturdy than the factory steps and much easier to pull down and close up.
On the inside we've made several additions/improvements. One of the more significant items is the addition of steel drawers in a few of the cabinets. They make accessing what we put in those cabinets easier. They are high quality slow close drawers/racks. A towel rack on the bathroom door gives you more places to hang towels or clothing to dry, etc. Other minor additions have also been made.
The Jayco White Hawk is known for quality construction and attention to detail. The 29BH model offers a spacious interior layout with plenty of room for the whole family. The main bedroom is at the front of the unit and features a comfortable queen-sized bed. A pocket door (sliding) for the main bedroom provides some additional privacy. The bunkhouse area is at the opposite end of the RV and provides additional sleeping space for adults or kids. Each bunk is extra wide and can accommodate two people.
There is a single slide section that expands the main living space. Both the dinette and couch are in the slide section. When extended, the living space is very roomy. The couch folds out into a bed that will sleep up to 2 people. The dinette can be converted into a sleeping space for another couple of people. Sitting at the dinette or on the couch, everyone has a good viewing angle to the flat screen TV and the faux fireplace.
The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and ample storage space. The is a good amount of counter space when compared to other similar RVs. As someone prepares a meal they will not block the view of those watching the TV. The 12V refrigerator performs well and has ample space in both the freezer and refrigeration sections. The three burner stove, microwave, and propane oven facilitate preparing several items at the same time. We will include a toaster and tea kettle as bonus items in the kitchen.
This RV has two air conditioning units. You need 50A service to run both at the same time. With 30A service you can run either, but not both.
Outside, the Jayco White Hawk power awning spans both the main and bedroom doors. There is an outdoor kitchen with a water spout and small electric fridge. A metal table can be mounted on an arm to serve as a place for the included griddle. Or you can put a small 2-3 burner propane stove on it. The sturdy construction and aerodynamic design ensure a smooth tow, while the advanced technology and safety features provide peace of mind on the road.
Setup at your campsite is relatively quick and easy. While there is not an auto-leveling system (most travel trailers of this size don't have them), we will include the materials we use to level the unit. Also, the stabilizer jacks are electric, which makes it faster and less labor intensive to put them down or back up. Most travel trailers have manual jacks, and not all White Hawk 29BH have electric jacks. We include the sewer hose and septic elbow, water hose, and the original 50A power cable and a second newer 50A cable. Other accessories included are some linens, pillows, a 50A surge suppressor, tongue lock, a brand new anode for the water heater, a very large yard mat, and several camping chairs.
Overall, the 2022 Jayco White Hawk 29BH is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a stylish and reliable travel trailer. Whether you're hitting the open road for a cross-country adventure or just escaping for the weekend, this Jayco has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. When we've taken this RV to various campgrounds, other campers often ask to check it out and come away favorably impressed.
