You can invite the kids or grandkids for a long weekend (or longer) camping trip to local State Parks for some quality one on one time. If this is what you are looking for this is your camper! Why? Because its done all the above multiple times. We are emotionally torn letting go of this camper but are ready to change our RV style to a Class A. The Grand Design 2800 Bunk House is ideal for two to five people. It runs easily on 30 or 50 amp hookups or with a couple of Honda 2200 generators for dry camping situations. A 50-amp hookup is only required when both air conditioners are required to cool the camper. We only ran both a/cs in the heat of summer when we first set-up and cooled down the camper. After cooldown the one a/c easily kept the camper cool. We did run both a/cs in Las Vegas when the temperature was 115 degrees. With shore or generator power you can run all electrical systems including, both indoor and outdoor refrigerators (kitchen refrigerator also runs on propane), hot water heater (also runs on propane), micro-wave, tvs (both living room and bedroom) along with other common appliances and devices through the AC outlets (coffee maker, ice machine and blender were essential). The Deep cell battery supports the lights, slide, awning and water pump+. The propane system with two tanks supports the heater, 3 burner stove top / oven, outdoor cooktop (two burners) and refrigerator and hot water heater if required. Water system can alternate between city water hookup and the 52-gallon freshwater tank with onboard water pump for the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, toilet, shower and two outdoor spray hose hookups (including one with hot /cold water controls). Two grey water tanks support the kitchen and shower/sink. Living room / kitchen space includes large pantry space, dog drawer, over and under counter cabinets and drawers and fold up counter. Dining area accommodates all campers for a sit-down meal or converts to a great kid size bed space with additional storage under bench seats. Two theater style chairs recline to comfortably watch the main living area TV (32 inch). The two bunk beds comfortably sleep adults on down to small children and have even slept two adults per bunk. There is also additional storage below the bunk beds. The master bedroom mattress is a full-size queen bed and has two wardrobes and spacious overhead and under bed storage space. Enjoy the great outdoors with a large roll out lighted canopy. The outdoor kitchen includes storage space with light and power, a two burner pull out stove and small refrigerator (recently replaced with new unit). The storage space in the front runs side to side. We easily stored power cord, fresh and black water supply bins, freshwater hoses, large outdoor carpet, 4 camp chairs, solo stove, maintenance supply bin, charcoal, wheel chalks, stabilizer blocks, front tongue tub and leveling blocks, mop, broom, and power tools. The unloaded vehicle weight is listed at 6,195 lbs. with the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 8,495 lbs. We towed the camper coast to coast with a Ford F-150 Limited with an 11,000 lbs. tow capacity. The trailer comes with a Husky Hitch with spring/sway bar kit.
