If you've been shopping for a family camper that doesn't need a single trip to the RV store before your first weekend out, this is the one. This EVO T2990 travel trailer pairs one of Forest River's most family-friendly floorplans a private front master bedroom and a private rear bunkhouse with four bunks with the two option packages that matter most in the high desert and the mountains: the Arctic Package for cold-weather camping and the factory Go Power solar package for off-grid weekends. It sleeps up to 10, and it comes with the towing equipment and camping gear most sellers keep: hitch, hoses, cords, leveling gear, and tools over $1,500 in equipment (new replacement value) included so you can hitch up and head out on day one.

The layout families fight over (in a good way)

Up front, parents get a true private master bedroom: RV queen bed (60" x 80"), mirrored wardrobes on both sides with LED accent lighting, overhead cabinets, and a privacy door. At the back, the kids get their own private bunkhouse with four full-size bunks, a mirrored wardrobe with drawers, and roller shades a true second bedroom at the opposite end of the trailer from the master.

In between, the big power slide-out opens up the living space: a U-shaped booth dinette with storage drawers underneath and a comfortable sleeper sofa, facing the entertainment wall with a Jensen TV, Furrion Bluetooth stereo, and Furrion electric fireplace. The L-shaped kitchen has solid-surface counters, an oversized farmhouse-style sink with a pull-down sprayer faucet, a Dometic gas/electric double-door refrigerator, 3-burner range with oven, and a stainless over-the-range microwave. The bathroom has a tub/shower with a skylight, power roof vent, foot-flush toilet, and a medicine-cabinet mirror plus linen shelving.

Wood-look flooring throughout, roller night shades, LED interior lighting, and a ducted Coleman Mach A/C with wall thermostat keep it comfortable and easy to clean.

Four-season and off-grid ready

- Arctic Package: radiant insulation in the roof and floor plus a fully enclosed, heat-ducted underbelly to protect the tanks in shoulder-season cold with removable panels that make service and winterizing far easier than most trailers in this class.

- Factory Go Power solar package: roof solar panel wired to a Go Power GP-PWM-30-UL 30-amp Bluetooth solar controller (monitor charging from your phone), feeding dual batteries on the tongue. Dry camping at Topaz, Walker River, or the Sierra? The fridge, furnace, and lights keep running.

- Suburban 6-gallon gas/electric DSI water heater and a forced-air furnace with heat ducted to the tank area.

Outdoor living, done right

The power awning with LED lighting covers the campsite kitchen: a dedicated outdoor kitchen bay with a mini refrigerator and a Suburban Elite Series griddle on a slide-out tray with quick-connect LP hose. Add the roof ladder and the huge front pass-through storage with the gear organized and ready inside it and the outside of this camping trailer is as usable as the inside.

J.D. Power currently values this trailer, configured with these options, at approximately $34,000. Between the price gap and the included equipment, this is the best value in a turnkey camper you'll find in the Reno/Carson Valley area, and there are currently almost no T2990s on the market nationally.
