RV Description
A great price for this 5th wheel. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it.
We bought this in 2017. Retired in 2018 and traveled thru out the West, Canada and Alaska following the fair weather.
Pros:
️The brakes were redone a few years ago.
️The main slide was repaired a while ago and is in working order.
️New tires this year.
️Cummings 50 amp propane generator was installed at purchase and has only 949 hours on it. I saw one on ebay for $3,900 if you want to sell it after purchase to offset your expenses of buying the trailer.
️My 16k hitch is free if you're willing to have a licensed installer take it off my truck and install it on yours. I'll sell it separately if you don't want to have it installed. I dont want anyone having their brother in law rip a hitch off my truck to sell for themselves.
️Solar panels and MPPT charger included. You're wired with two 100 watt stand alone panels and ready to charge batteries.
️Speaking of batteries. You'll have two sets of 6-Volt golf cart batteries (4 total 2 with the geni and 2 in the side battery housing) wired in series/parallel. That's 450 amps ready to serve your needs. Terminals need cleaning and a box of battery acid is included.
️The suspension for the dual axle has been upgraded with the Dexter Axle grease fittings package instead of the standard plastic bushings.
️New toilet installed a few years ago
️TV and DVD/Radio bought in 2017.
️Tire pressure monitoring system included
️Back up camera with monitor included
️Propane tanks had recertification a few years ago.
️Globs of storage
️I have most manuals for the trailer and appliances as well as receipts on repairs for historical reference.
Cons:
️A/C quit a few years ago. Not the unit but the fan blower motor. Sofa bed needs a new air matress. A $350 part about a $600 repair. This is the biggest one. The other cons are pretty minor.
️The TV antenna got sucked off the roof during a storm while visiting the Elvis Presley estate. I won't hold it against him.
️Some minor exterior damage when we had a fight with a light pole in Alaska. No frame or interior damage. The light pole fared better then we did.
️We had a new canopy installed on the living space slide out and the main awning. They screwed up the main. It operates but some rollers that were there aren't now so it's noisy and clumsy. Don't get repairs done on the road. Stick with one good repair shop. Shout out to Camping World in Spartanburg, SC. The only place I'd go for repairs.
️The electric hot water element has never worked. We didn't care since we basically camped boondock style. The gas hot water heater works great.
️There is a leak from the exterior kitchen drain pipe underneath outside the insulation foam covering so easy to spot and get to. Showed up after a tow when the truck died once. It comes and goes and seems to be effected by how full the kitchen waste water tank gets. I think it could be an easy DIY project.
️I've never used the wintering features and not even sure that scenario is doable. When I bought it I had to do a fix to get the water lines working and I stopped there. You can fill water tanks country style (pump in from a water source of any kind) and from city utilities.
️The dump pipe fills from leak(s) off one of the feeds (black or one of 2 grey tanks) which we corrected by just using an additional shut off valve at the end of the dump pipe.
️Kitchen window crank and one of the living area window crank don't crank. Another DIY.
️Two storage area doors in the living area need a hinge. They open but won't stay open without you holding them open.
️The main door can pop open in travel. We just be sure to use the handrail guard door brace setting when traveling.
️The steps lost a crossbar a few years ago. A good welder could get you back in business. I clamped a cross bar on myself but they're steps have a little too much give to them.
️The usual wear and tear to fabric, carpet, wood shelving, and frig plastic shelving but no show stoppers.
️The dog has degenerative arthritis. The ramp we bought to get her in the truck and trailer is now even a challenge. So we're in the midst of updating a primitive camp in a snow climate. I'd rather not store a trailer in this climate for who knows how long. For us going forward camping won't be full-time anymore so this just doesn't fit our purpose as well as it used to.
Good luck with your search!
