RV Description
The Basecamp is lightweight (2585 pounds dry, 410 pounds hitch weight) and is readily towed by mid-size SUVs. Its compact size and rugged features allow you to access tight camping places in remote sites and rough terrain. Despite its compact size, the intelligent design of the Basecamp gives you the most useful features including refrigerator, shower, toilet, gas stove top with two burners, air conditioner, microwave, heater and more. Most knowledgeable campers would agree that the most useful option for upgrading a Basecamp is to focus on the power system. In 2021 we replaced the original inefficient lead/acid batteries in this Basecamp that we are selling with high-capacity 100 amp-hour lithium batteries. We also installed an upgraded powerful inverter/charger (1000 watts, 60 amps). The cost of the battery/inverter/charger upgrade was $4200. This investment was well worth the cost because the upgraded energy system is much more robust. In combination with the 160-watt solar panels, extended trips off grid are possible.
