Because of this premium maintenance, I have diligently brought it in every 3 months ( HB dealership has records ) for 9 years as allowed for routine oil changes , transmission and other maintenance. The Power Stroke 3.7 TURBO diesel engine runs incredibly smooth, excellent gas mileage and is actually pretty fast for city and distance driving.Equipped with a NEW brake controller and seven prong electrical outlet for towing ($2300 value) that has been on the van for a few months now. Nothing has been towed except for a small lightweight inflatable boat 2 times to Santa Barbara for surfing. If your planning on towing ,it will pull up to 11,000 lbs .DMV wise, The van is not rated as a commercial vehicle as it should be . It is rated as a regular passenger vehicle and the DMV yearly on this is only $138. If it were commercial it would be three times this = long term savings . In comparison to cost and amenities , this van has everything that you need compared to the $180,000 Sprinters. If you look at Consumer reports ,reviews and Sprinter forums you’ll find that many Sprinters are lemons. This Power Stroke Diesel engine by Ford is a rare find. It is one of the best engines made by Ford. This van runs like a top, does not drop a dime oil , never been in an accident drives and drives completely straight. It’s a quiet, smooth running engine. This vehicle is what people in the car business call a Gem of a find. To be able to get a vehicle this age with low miles and as well taken care of is called a Gem . Only reason Im selling it , as you’ll I am much older and a large person .As you can tell by the miles , it sits a lot . It needs to be used for what it was built for . It has a metal base to set up the small table for a quick office or dining . Also, there is a place to sit for 2 in front of the toilet. The electrical system works perfectly with a 200 W solar system installed on roof, which supplies a Top of the Line 1000 watt - name brand - BattleBorn lithium battery ($1100) . The Solar system and battery are hooked up into a INVERTER , which enables you to plug in regular 110 appliances, such as coffee maker, blow dryer, cooking appliances, etc. The lighting system has dimmable LED lights. This battery is charged from the Solar system and also thru a DIVERTER while engine is running or while driving . This way you can charge if it is not sunny or need power right away. Every window has custom made BLACK -OUT ,insulated covers from name brand - Straw Hat- window system ($1600 value ). Gives ultimate privacy when inside van during BOONDOCKING mode. You can Be parked in front of someone’s house or in a commercial parking lot and it looks completely black from the outside. You can be inside at night with lights on,cooking dinner, listening to music and no one can even tell that your in there .On that note, the LED lights on the inside turn so bright that you can practically perform surgery ,or dim to low as needed .Top of-the-line Agilis Michelin tires ($1700 value ). The inside of the van has been meticulously, insulated with marine grade plywood, and sound dampening throughout. The ceiling has a special 3M insulating sound dampening on the roof, which is the black, high-quality rubber type material. This van is extremely Quiet. There is no rattling of things or noises that go on as you usually here when youre in an RV. It is very well-made throughout. There is a large garage underneath the bed for your equipment and supplies with custom made marine grade plywood sliders to pull out items from underneath . The roof has MAXX vent that is operated By the battery. Construction rack mounted on roof with exterior FLOOD light that will hold up to 600 lbs of kayaks, surfboards , SUPs etc Dometic refrigerator is custom installed with 400 lb. sliders for strength when pulled out. This refrigerator is incredible and runs for free . It actually makes ice cubes ! There is a SHORE power outlet installed on then driver side for RV parks by simply using an extension cord. Cabinets were custom built with the most durable Marine grade 1/2” thick BEECH wood veneer. Usually found in high quality boats , very sturdy and weather water resistant. This custom van was at was extremely well built by retired contractor. Not a prefab kit that you see in most of these vans with cheap materials that loosen and fall apart.No expense was spared in making this RV.
