RV Description

2021 Coachmen Galleria 24A, built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis (overall length is 24'3"). The van is powered by the M-B 3.0 liter turbo diesel; 18 to 20 MPG is common, but, of course, YMMV. This unit has, among other safety features, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. There are two permanent beds, each of which power inclines / reclines. This is the ideal van for longer trips by a couple (and a pet or two). The unit is in nice condition and has approximately 32,500 miles and is attractively priced at $92,900. Located near Portland, Maine.

Equipment. This van's refrigeration is a Nova Kool 7.3 c.f. compressor refrigerator with separate freezer drawer below. It has a Truma Combi Eco Plus heater / water heater. It is equipped with 330 watts of solar panels, a 2000-watt Xantrex pure sine wave inverter, and 400 amp hours of lithium batteries (the lithium was not factory installed; it was installed in 2024 by a licensed electrician who specializes in RV lithium and solar). It is also equipped with a Cummins 2500 watt propane generator. The van has Firefly integrated controls with two control panels. It is equipped with an induction cooktop and convection microwave. It has a MaxxAir exhaust fan with rain sensor. The van also has a Premier Turbo II 12v air conditioner. There is a highly adjustable Lagun table which is also removable/storable. There is also a desk for your office on the road. All water lines are internal to the van and the grey tank is equipped with a tank heater.

Particularly appreciated features:

Load capacity. The Galleria 24A has an occupant and cargo carrying capacity of about 1,800 pounds; that is far more than most users would ever need and more than some Class B+, Class C, and even some Class A RVs!

Under bed storage. The feature that distinguishes the 24A from other Galleria floorplans and from nearly every other manufactured Class B van is that it has slightly raised permanent beds resulting in a huge amount of bulk storage under the beds; contrast this with the tiny storage under the jackknife sofas in many Class B vans!

Lithium. The substitution of lithium batteries greatly improves the function of the electrical system compared to vans with the standard AGM battery; with the lithium battery capacity and recharging via solar, propane generator, and engine alternator, electricity will not be the limiting factor to your boondocking plans! The lithium batteries are also lighter than the standard AGM battery, resulting in a slight increase in van load capacity.

Beds. As noted above, the beds are permanent; so, no puzzle beds as is typical with many Class B floorplans. Not only is this less bother, but it also results, we think, in a more comfortable bed! And, since the beds incline, they provide an additional lounging location.

Cabinets. The cabinets are expertly crafted in maple, with high-end touches such as dovetail joints. We suspect that the quality is better than the cabinets in most homes - they certainly are nicer than the ones in our kitchen - seriously! They are such a nice contrast to the low quality of the cabinets in many/most RVs! In addition to the quality, there is quantity - much more space than most will need and that is in addition to the bulk storage under the beds!

Lighting. There are a multitude of lights - general, special purpose, mood; and, the lighting is very highly adjustable, resulting in everything from "operating-room bright" to the most subtle light.

Seats. The driver and passenger seats are covered in butter-soft, yet durable, imitation leather; they are fully adjustable (including extending thigh supports for taller individuals) and they are very, very comfortable! (You'll want to get one as a lounge chair for home!) They swivel to face the coach interior, so also serve as lounge chairs, seating for the desk and seating for the Lagun table. The Mercedes Sprinter has abundant leg room for the driver and passenger.

Thoughtful details. The folks at Coachmen included many thoughtful details, for example: a drawer specifically designed for a trash can, a laundry basket accessed through a panel under the beds, and a low-level drawer for a pet dish.

Further information. The brochure for the 2021 Galleria line: https://coachmenrv.com/brochures/2021/2021galleriafeaturebenefits.pdf And a shorter brochure: https://library.rvusa.com/brochure/2021-Coachmen-Galleria.pdf These brochures contain all the Galleria floorplans and optional equipment, so some portions will be inapplicable to this unit. There are several YouTube videos about the Galleria 24A; here is a particularly good one, as it relates to the 2021 model and is a walkaround conducted by Coachmen's Class B manager: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wskQS7_ZW8E The video is of a 4 x 4 van with factory lithium, both of which are inapplicable to this unit, but the video still provides a good tour of the floorplan and its features.
