RV Description
Up for sale is our EuroVan Camper (Winnie) with all current maintenance and many upgrades! With relatively low miles for her age, weve enjoyed her as our coach for several coastal camping adventures. With a planned, careful setup, its possible to break down and drive away from the camp site for day trips with only a few minutes effort! Setup and teardown can be done by anyone able to reach about 7ft and handle the lightweight canopy and pop-top.
The kitchenette features the original Wedgewood two burner propane stove and a small wash basin. The propane is also connected up to a thermostat controlled furnace which tests out, but have been recommended to only run it while on shore power in order to avoid draining the house battery running the circulation fan. The face of the kitchenette also includes controls over the water pump as well as the system monitor panel to show water, propane, and battery levels.
The original refrigerator has been replaced with a storage cabinet (from GoWesty). Nobody has good things to say about the original fridge which was prone to failure, finicky, and not terribly efficient. There are three 120v outlets available inside while on shore power - they will run about anything you plug into them, including the aftermarket cooler of your choice.
The pop-top is second to none when it comes to standing head room at easily seven feet plus. The upper bunk space folds back to approximately half the size of the bed to open up standing space for moving about easily. With the sliding door open, front seats turned in, bench seat upright, and tables in place, there is still standing room to maneuver. The new canopy has screens on three sides with zipper-closed window panels like a tent. This lets in limitless light as well as promotes airflow throughout the space. With various window coverings, the pop-top, multiple light fixtures and configuration options for the interior space, it is quite comfortable to occupy for two.
Although the van purportedly sleeps four with the upper bunk, we have never attempted this, and whomever ends up top would need to be pretty acrobatic indeed! Because the original bedding pads were only 2 and not overly comfortable, we have custom fit a 6 memory foam mattress to the main bed. This complicates access to certain storage spaces, and also has nowhere to fold out of the way, so one must be committed to sleep in this space with the mattress in place before setting off - but having slept with and without it in place, we definitely prefer to have it as it makes a world of difference.
The van is driving better than ever - smooth, good power, brakes feel great, new tires track well. Mechanically, shes in about as good of shape as possible. The new seats are comfortable to drive distance with adjustable armrests and incline position. Theres a new Jensen radio deck that hasnt even been taken out of the sales/demo mode yet. It has support for remove AV input which would be nice to connect up to a backup camera some day.
So if its so great, why sell it? This is the most frequently asked question. The answer is simple: if we had unlimited parking space, perhaps we would not. But we need a second car thats a better fit for our our daily lives and current needs and the camper van simply doesnt fit the bill for us. We have invested a fair bit into fixing, detailing, and getting her back into fairly prime shape, but as with any vehicle this age, there will always be more to do. We have run ourselves out of time and space and, though its been fun for our various short trips to Big Sur, we need to make some changes and its time to make space for a different vehicle. We hope that you enjoy her as much as we have!
