RV Description

Excellent condition 2019 Leasure Travel Van Unity Rear Twin Bed. Rear sleeping arrangement is a twin bed or extended King (89" across, 13 inches wider than a King bed), Ungraded suspension system from Agile Offroad, which eliminates the excessive sway and rear end squatting of the standard Mercedes 3500 suspension. Each rear leaf spring is rated at 6500 pounds, plus Fox commercial rear shocks and Koni Front Coilover struts. The loaded van handles incredible now, RV doesn't easily sway or rock back and forth, smooth quiet ride. New Michelin commercial tires, newer upgraded AGM batteries with Victron battery monitor system. Exterior propane camp stove and oven, re-engineered pantry. Ultraleather on all seating, drivers and passenger seats swivel to face the rear of the coach for TV viewing or four places around the galley table, secondary macerator pump, all windows and doors have privacy blinds. Two TV's, one in the rear and the other in the galley, the galley TV stores in its own cabinet, EQ Smartlevel equalizer hydraulic leveling system (I had the system calibrated and hydraulic fluid flushed two years ago at an RV dealership). Freedom Freestyle Power awning, Trauma AquaGo LP Instant hot water, two Dometic roof fans (galley fan is new) Samsung Blu-ray disc player, Jenson AM/FM radio which has various additional audio inputs, SeeLevel II tank monitors, Progressive Industries electrical management system, Dometic propane two burner cooktop, Magnum Inverter, New Hansgrohe galley faucet, Dometic Masterflush macerator toilet, San-T-Flush system, Airxcel propane cabin heat, Kwikee electric steps, Dometic air conditioner and heat pump, Onan LP Generator, Winegard Connect 2.0 Wifi, Wifi extender and AM/FM Antenna, Dometic fridge (shore power, propane or house battery powered), Convection microwave oven, custom bed covers, custom seat covers to protect the Ultra Leather. Paint Protection Film (PPF) on the front facia, hood, both fenders and cabin flares ($2700 cost, but it protects from rock chips and is self-healing). Four 100 watt solar panels with energy monitor system. Maintenance: I change the oil every 5K using a Ravenol German synthetic motor oil kit (kit contains 13 Liters of Oil + Mahle filter, O-rings and crush washer), (the recommended oil change interval is 20K), I flushed the transmission at 13K and replaced the transmission oil filter (I would do it again as good insurance in 7K). I replace the fuel filter every 10K (good insurance in case you ever unknowingly get too high a concentration of Biodiesel, 5% max) (I had a long discussion with the lead mechanic at my local Sprinter dealer about this), and the EGR valve is removed and cleaned every 12K or as necessary (I have a spare cleaned and ready to install, $1000 part), Engine Air Filter replaced every 20K, Onan Generator Oil change with Onan 15W40 at 50 hours, then every 100 hours. I also replace the spark plug (if you try and do it make sure to properly gap the plug, the plugs come pre-gapped for a gas generator and the propane version has a tighter gap) and filter. (Generator has 350 hours and has fresh oil, filter and plug). I originally flushed the brake system at 16K using Mercedes Dot4 plus brake fluid. It is due again, so I'm going to flush the system and change the motor oil, so the RV is totally ready for a trip. The motor oil only has about 2K miles on it, but it's a year old since I changed the oil last April, so it's due again. I had an RV dealership calibrate the leveling system and flush the hydraulic fluid two years ago while on a trip in SoCal. I lubricate the power steps every couple of months when in use and lubricate all hinges and closures as necessary. New wiper blades last Summer. The RV is hand washed regularly and waxed twice a year including the top. The top is fiberglass, clean and shiny new looking including the solar panels. Covered storage, No salt exposure. The RV shows like a new vehicle and comes with many spare/ replacement parts and a specialty tool or two. Regarding maintenance on this RV. I am a retired automotive engineer and lifelong mechanic. Over the years, I've worked on all my own vehicles, and boats as well as countless family, friends and neighbor's vehicles. While I think most of the Mercedes vehicle maintenance is fairly easy, I don't recommend watching a YouTube video and trying it yourself. When I watch them, all I see is how to do it wrong. For example: the fuel filter has fuel line clamps that are latching. These are excellent since they apply the exact clamp load required on the fuel line. I've watched videos where people screw these up and replace them with worm drive clamps. If you at least use a worm drive clamp designed for fuel systems, it's not the end of the world but you are guessing as to how tight to make the clamp. Too tight is just as bad as too loose and can cause a leak. The clamps used on the Mercedes are latching and can easily be unlatched and reused. Anyway, the Mercedes dealerships charge and arm and two legs for service and it's not that hard to do yourself if you do the research. If I have questions, I know a head mechanic at my local Sprinter dealership to ask. Also, use Mercedes parts and recommended fluids. Don't try and out-think the Mercedes engineers who did the validation and testing on the vehicle. The recommended oil or fluid may just have additives essential for proper longevity of the system. And always apply the specified torq. Snug or tight is not a spec.
