Better than new BT Cruiser 5240.  Total suspension improvement.  Do not think of this as a lift kit.  It is a total suspension upgrade done for safety.  Compare my RV to a stock BT Cruiser 5240 and you can see the stock RV will drag, like a vast majority of Class C RV’s will do.  When stock I can honestly say that towing my Jeep Wrangler was life threatening.  

I was looking for a small RV with sleeping for 2 and a full bath. I also wanted to be able to drive the RV as my primary transportation while traveling in lieu of flat towing my Jeep. I did not want the large bed over cab design and I wanted an aerodynamic appearance. The BT 5240 fit those requirements and gave me the option to flat tow my JKU Wrangler.

I purchased this unit new and found it handled poorly towing my Jeep Wrangler; a significant understatement.  I researched suspension upgrades thinking thicker sway bar, etc. I found a company called Weldtecdesigns in San Diego, California. I watched several videos and was convinced the upgrade was worth the cost. It satisfied both my handling needs and the common low clearance found on Class C RV's. This is a complete suspension upgrade with modified I-Beams, custom extended radius arms, lift coil springs and a new leaf spring package that was custom made based on the actual weight of this unit. I found NBD Motorsports in Virginia Beach, VA to do the installations. NBD is a Veteran owned shop.

Aftermarket upgrades:

-Weldtecdesigns Off Grid 6" Suspension Lift Kit w/Fox Shocks (www.weldtecdesigns.com)

- Replaced the stock steel wheels and hub caps with Ultra Modular Polished Front and Rear wheels and BFG KO2 LT235/85R16 Tires.

-For additional storage I purchased:

Yakima EXO Swing Base / EXO TopShelf / EXO GearLocker / EXO GearWarrior. A license plate relocation kit from Yakima is also installed. 

Upgrades totaled > $17,000.

If you are wondering why a 6" lift then I sincerely suggest you test drive a Class C and drive it like you would a car. Pull into gas stations, shopping centers etc and tell me they do not drag. These units sit so low you're guaranteed to drag and possibly damage the gray and black tank valves.

The current photos are with the slide out in. That said, you can see that there is plenty of room to reach the kitchen, fridge and bathroom with the slide out in. That is a plus when stopping at rest stops for a quick nap, bathroom break or snack.

No pets have been in; nor any smoking in this RV.
