RV Description

This 2020 Ford Transit is AWD and has an eco-boost engine. This model has the high roof - I am 6'3" and fit comfortably inside the van! This van has a modern, minimalistic feel while also using materials that make it feel like a traditional home vs. a van!

The van has tons of storage space throughout, utilizing the modern, high-gloss cabinets. The countertops are a thin piece of quartz which give it a much more luxurious feel than most vans! I utilized floating shelves to make the van feel more open and spacias while using strong velcro to attach everything to the shelves! The huge sink also was a functionality and stylistic choice because just cause it's a tiny home does not mean EVERYTHING has to be tiny in it!!

I built this van entirely myself with the intentions of using for a long time but I started a business that has pulled me out of the van life! I say this to say I used really high quality and strong materials throughout! The van build has withstanded the miles! I also never built the van to try to turn a profit on someone else.

The most unique thing about this build vs. a more commercial build is going to be the water and electric set up. For electricity, I utilized 3 portable generator batteries. I have one heavy duty Yeti 1400 battery that can power everything from a coffee machine, induction cooktop, etc. & then I have two Dometic PLB40 batteries that I used primarily for the fridge (sometimes the vent), but I cycle them to have one always on the fridge and one charging! I never wanted to overcomplicate the van and getting professional electrical work seemed more of an inconvenience when these heavy duty portable batteries on the market accomplish the same thing!

For water, this is an area that I changed until I found what works best for me but currently I have simpled it down to just using two 7 gallon water contains for fresh water and grey water (under the sink). I was VERY half on and half off in the van and cleaning the water containers was super important to me and having something agile enough that I could bring in to a house and clean GOOD became my thing. At one point I had a 12V water pump, another moment a marine foot pump, but found this was just easier and felt cleaner.

Everyone has different needs and interests for their van life! I built this van based on mine and it's either a good fit or a great base for someone to continue investing in this van!
