We have a 1-ton truck with an 8-foot bed and we recommend the same because we had no problems. This doesn’t mean your truck can’t handle the AF-865. It just means this is the only experience we have and we had no trouble or problems.
However, if your truck can handle the payload and it’s a match for the center of gravity, your good to go.
Our Arctic Fox 865 wet-weight is 3393 pounds. Expect 500 to 1000 pounds of personal stuff. So to be safe be sure your truck can handle at least 4393 pounds of payload.
The center of gravity for this camper is 42-inches.
