Vehicle & systems maintenance

The engine is a V4 diesel coupled with a 7 speed transmission. The Sprinter is the 144 inch wheel base chassis.
The Sprinter has had the following maintenance performed:
The diesel engine/sys. has had factory recommended preventative maintenance at 15,000, 30,000 and 45,000 mile intervals; each service was performed at Mercedes Benz dealerships
The 7 speed transmission had preventative maintenance performed at approx. 45,000 miles, also performed at a Mercedes Benz dealership
The Sububurban hot water heater has had the anode replaced every year beginning in 2016. Replacement of the anode helps prevent early water heater failure due to rust.

Sprinter fuel economy

From our home base in Western Colorado at 5000 ft elevation, we have traveled much of the United States. We have seen a consistent 24 to 25 miles per gallon. On a trip south, we saw a 33 mpg near sea level.
