Drive 6 miles to Hwy 64 West at Lexington. Then drive 8 miles west to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River. • From the northeast: Traveling southwest, on either Business 85 out of Greensboro or Hwy 52 South, turn right onto Hwy 64 West at Lexington and travel west 8 miles to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River.
Additional Features: Located on 305 acres in the heart of the Piedmont region, this preserve of forests, rolling hills and green fields was once part of the Cooleemee cotton and tobacco plantation, which dates back to 1817. The lake on the property offers fishing, boating and a swimming beach. Winston-Salem, one of the South's more illustrious cities, offers a restoration of the original town, plus other attractions (20 miles).

Directions: Twin Lakes Resort is located on a peninsula between the Pamlico River and Chocowinity Bay. To visit our resort from JCT 264 and US 17, go South 1.5 miles on US 17, turn left at the overhead pass, and continue East another 1.6 miles. From Chocowinity, travel North 1.8 miles on US 17 and turn at the WERO Radio Station, then continue east for another 1.6 miles. Co-ordinates 35.5212 -77.0494
Additional Features: Perhaps no place on the East Coast blends golf and nature more gracefully than Bald Head Island. The undulating greens on the course average a remarkable 11,000 square feet. And along with plenty of water – freshwater lagoons languidly snake around or through fourteen of the fairways – this George Cobb design offers golfers a rare surprise for a coastal course: elevation changes. The vertical drop from tee box to green on the signature par 3 16th, for example, is around 40 feet. Bald Head Island is also renowned for its turtle-preservation program, which can make for unforgettable sights for you and your family during nighttime strolls.

Directions: • GPS Coordinates: N 35.85750 degrees and W 80.39613 degrees; elevation is 758 ft. • From the west: Traveling east on I-40, turn right onto Hwy 64 East at Mocksville exit. Travel southeast on Hwy 64 through Mocksville for 15 miles to the preserve, on the left. • From the southwest: Traveling northeast on I-85, take Exit 87 and get onto combination Business 85-Hwy 29/70-Hwy 52. Drive 6 miles to Hwy 64 West at Lexington. Then drive 8 miles west to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River. • From the northeast: Traveling southwest, on either Business 85 out of Greensboro or Hwy 52 South, turn right onto Hwy 64 West at Lexington and travel west 8 miles to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River.
Additional Features: Located on 305 acres in the heart of the Piedmont region, this preserve of forests, rolling hills and green fields was once part of the Cooleemee cotton and tobacco plantation, which dates back to 1817. The lake on the property offers fishing, boating and a swimming beach. Winston-Salem, one of the South's more illustrious cities, offers a restoration of the original town, plus other attractions (20 miles).
